Across Rhode Island , working people will stand together to ensure that their elected officials start paying attention to what really matters to us. We're telling our representatives at every level of government to:

. Create and keep good jobs that support families and provide full health care and retirement benefits.

. Ensure that everyone has access to affordable health care, help all seniors pay for prescriptions under Medicare and control soaring health coverage and drug costs.

. Provide a world-class education for every child, making quality colleges, schools and teachers a top priority.

. Protect our retirement savings from corporate corruption and strengthen our Social Security system, as opposed to gambling it away in privatized stock market accounts.

. Help staff and equip police, fire and emergency medical departments to provide real homeland security.

. Protect our workers by strengthening workplace safety regulations.

Our local, state and national elected officials are debating these issues now. And our representatives at every level of government are being lobbied daily by the wealthy and corporate special interests. It's time they hear from Working Rhode Island, too. It's time to return dignity and respect to the workplace.
